Here is a list of the many ministries that we offer at Piney Grove Baptist Church. If you’re interested in more information about any of them, please click here

  1. Deacon Ministry—aids the Pastor in his work, assists in the administration of church ordinances, and cares for the sick and needy. With the assistance of the Trustee Ministry, the Deacon Ministry also oversees church finances, reporting to the Pastor.
  2. Trustee Ministry—holds legal title to the church and is responsible for the handling of its financial affairs. Receive and make disbursements of funds, as directed by the Treasurer, Deacon Ministry and the Pastor.
  3. Deaconess Ministry—assist the Deacon Ministry with the duties of caring for the sick and needy. Assist/prepare for ritual of Holy Communion.
  4. Missionary Circle—comprised of:

  5. Senior Missionary Ministry (ages 36 and older)
  6. Young Adult Missionary  Ministry (ages 18-35)
  7. Youth Missionary Ministry (ages 6-17)
  8. The Missionary Circle is responsible for taking the church ministry into the community. They coordinate crusades and community activities to compel the unsaved to accept Christ. They also visit the sick and shut in. Every church member is a missionary.

  9. Sunday School Ministry—responsible for the administration of Christian Education, through the implementation of Sunday School, Vacation Bible School (see below), and skits held during morning worship.
  10. Covenant Partners Marriage Ministry—for all married and soon-to-be-married couples. This group holds activities to enhance the spiritual growth of the family through the marriage, such as seminars, gospel plays, dinners and other outings.
  11. Single’s Ministry—for all Single, Divorced or Widowed persons. Holds discussion, attends plays and seminars to enhance the spiritual growth of the single christian.
  12. Women’s Progressive Ministry—assists with the needs of the church and aids in its beautification.
  13. Youth Coordinators Ministry—appointed by the Pastor, this group serves as advocates for the youth, constantly reminding members of the church body that the Spirit and Love of Christ is to be shown to all the children of God. Responsible for the coordination of all youth activities for the church body.
  14. Intercessory Prayer Ministry—goes to God in prayer, interceding on behalf of the Pastor, officials, and entire church body on each Wednesday evening and Sunday morning. Also holds special intercessory prayer sessions for specific upcoming events throughout the year.
  15. Daughters of Hannah/Women’s Ministry—holds monthly meetings, discussions, and quarterly dinners designed to enhance the spiritual growth of the woman. Coordinates the church’s Annual Women’s Conference.
  16. Men’s Action Fellowship Ministry—an Outreach Ministry that canvasses neighborhoods in the Winston-Salem area, witnessing to others. passing out tracks and presenting the Plan of Salvation to the unsaved. Holds monthly meetings and coordinates/sponsors an annual Men’s Conference.
  17. Music/Dance Ministries—uplifting the name of Jesus in song & dance.

  29. Hospitality Ministry—prepares and serves food for various functions held at the church.
  30. Children’s Church Ministry—with the assistance and cooperation of the Sunday School Ministry, this ministry implements a Christian Education Program held during morning worship for children ages 2-12 on the 1st, 2nd, and 4th Sundays of each month. They host "Children’s Time" during morning worship on each 5th Sunday.
  31. Senior Ushers Ministry—this ministry is the official representative of Jesus Christ seen by people as they enter God’s house. They are obligated to guide worshippers to obedience during service and to assist them with any special needs they might have.
  32. Junior Ushers Ministry—under the guidance of the Senior Ushers Ministry, these youth learn how to handle the responsibilities of an usher and assist members and guests throughout the worship service.
  33. Pastor’s Aide Ministry—attends to the needs of the Pastor as he attends to the business of the church, by providing services upon request and as needed.
  34. Nurses’ Ministry—dedicated to helping those in need during services. Administers basic medical attention and assesses the needs of any worshipper in distress, requesting emergency medical technicians when required.
  35. Vacation Bible School—sponsored by the Sunday School Department, this is held the last week of June each year.
  36. Piney Grove Messenger Editorial Ministry—publishers of The Piney Grove Messenger, a quarterly newsletter.
  37. Announcers Ministry—informs worshippers of upcoming events during morning worship.
  38. New Members Welcome Ministry—provides new members with information concerning all of the ministries of the church and its activities. Aids in the official registration of each member by collecting information that is provided to the Church Secretary.
  39. Greeters Ministrythe first point of contact for visitors when they enter the church. The greeters welcome and register visitors as they enter into the church prior to services.
  40. Publications Ministry—responsible for coordinating the media advertising and church announcements given to radio and television stations and to print media to publicize upcoming events.
  41. Drama Ministryspreading the Word through drama with skits, plays, and readings for all occasions.
  42. Van/Transportation Ministry—provides transportation for members and guests to Sunday School and worship services. Also coordinates transportation for the trips & outings by the various ministries.
  43. Audio & Video Ministry—sound technicians and camera operators record church services and special events. They are responsible for providing the recording for our weekly radio broadcast and our Featured Sermon, here on the web site. The Audio & Video Ministry also provides sound & video services for special events, crusades, weddings, etc. This ministry is responsible for the Tape Ministry, which sells Audio & Videotapes of services to members and visitors.
  44. Library Ministry—under the direction of the Sunday School Ministry, the Library Ministry provides books, audio cassettes and video tapes for members to check out and enhance their spiritual growth. 
  45. Photography Ministry—a youth ministry that teaches youth about photography while also teaching them about their christian duties. Look for some of their photos here on the web in the near future.
  46. Praise Summer Camp Ministry—a spiritually-based summer day camp for youth ages 4-15. The Praise Summer Camp operates from the Piney Grove Family Center, located at 4740 Indiana Avenue, across the street from the church.
